Apet's Bistek

Apron Cookbook regional cooking (Pampanga, Ilocos, Bicol and more!) I may try this again using kecap manis instead of light soy sauce.


Apet's Bistek

110g sirloin beef, thinly sliced

Marinade:

2 tbsp light soy sauce
Juice from 2 kamias (bilimbi)
1.5 cloves of garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp oregano
Ground black pepper

  • Marinade the beef for 1 hour.
  • Drain and reserve the marinade.
  • Saute the beef until just cooked. 
  • Remove and set aside.

1/2 onion, sliced
1/2 tbsp sherry

  • Saute the onion until caramelized.
  • Toss in the beef and deglaze the pan with wine.
  • Add the reserved marinade and heat through.
